Across six Cisco offices in China, engineers and product managers worked behind full-height glass partitions — with source code, customer data and product roadmaps legible from the corridor. Between 2024 and 2026, an authorized Nanhai Display dealer applied approximately 200 m² of Celaeno® Film to the partitions enclosing core workspaces and meeting rooms.
Our goal is to work closely with partners to help customers achieve greater success in multiple fields.
Cisco's offices were designed around transparency. Full-height glass partitions between corridor and workspace were part of that aesthetic. But the same glass that made the floor plan feel open also exposed what sat on the screens inside: source code, customer data and unreleased product roadmaps were readable to anyone walking past.
Information security at Cisco had always been built on firewalls, endpoint protection and encryption. Visual leakage through the physical space sat outside all three.
Celaeno® Film was applied to the glass partitions enclosing core workspaces and meeting rooms. The film works as an optical filter rather than a frosted panel: viewed from the corridor, on-screen content dissolves into shadow, while from inside the room the glass stays clear and the space stays open.
Installation was carried out section by section by an authorized Nanhai Display dealer — no structural change to the glazing, and no downtime for the teams working behind it. Because the deployment spanned six cities, the same specification was rolled out locally through the dealer network.
On-screen content is no longer readable from outside the partitions, while the open-office layout is unchanged.
The project passed acceptance by Cisco's facilities team.
Cisco has indicated it will evaluate privacy film for additional office spaces to further strengthen physical information security.
