Covestro Gives Its Office Glass a Second Job

The Challenge

Covestro's office in Qiantan, Shanghai, is organised around glass partitions and glazed meeting rooms, which keep the floorplate open and daylight moving through the space. This results in a workplace with nothing to project onto, so presentations, internal briefings and visitor-facing content have to rely on portable screens that take up floor space, need to be set up and cleared away, and break the openness the glass was chosen for. The challenge was to make the glass itself carry imagery without covering it, without blocking daylight, or without fixing display hardware to the interior.

The Solution

Nanhai Display installed its Clear Projection Film across approximately 20 m² of interior glass at the Covestro office in Qiantan, Shanghai. The film uses nano reflective particles to hold crisp front-projection imagery at high definition and low haze—carrying the image when the projector is running, and staying close to ordinary glass when it is not—without the need for replacement glazing, blackout blinds, or fixed display panels.

The Result

Presentation-ready glass and an unchanged office. Nanhai Display helps keep the glazing transparent and daylight moving through the floorplate while giving Covestro a projection surface that appears only when it is in use, supporting meetings, internal briefings and visitor-facing content on the same glass.
